Gamers, get ready to introduce to your non-gaming friends the world of Rapture, the Big Daddies, Little Sisters, and Jack. Bioshock is slated to make its big-screen debut next year and although production of the movie is not as fast as you completing Bioshock 2, chances are, we are about to be treated to a surprise.

Surprise because we never know what we'll get with a film adaptation of a game title. It's a hit-or-miss thing when it comes to this stuff. For all we know, we could be sitting there watching the movie and all the time picking on things the filmmakers left out or added. Or, we could watch this movie and go back to playing the game with a better understanding of Jack and his predicament.

Early rumors named Gore Verbinski as the director of this film adaptation. Verbinski directed the first three (yep, there's a fourth) Pirates of the Caribbean movie. But with the production going at a snail's pace, Gore decided to let go of the project and it is now rumored that 28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo was given the reigns to this project.

Of the many questions surrounding this film adaptation, one is always front and center. How would the filmmakers portray Jack? In the game of course, his personality is blank so you, the gamer can easily fill it in. This should be the key whether this movie will be a hit or a miss.
